Best Pubs in Croyde and Georgeham
Croyde and Georgeham have some of the best pubs in the area. Whether you’re looking for a great beer garden, local ales or quality food; here’s a guide to a few of our favourites to help you choose. All the below are also dog friendly pubs, but some have restrictions on this.
The Thatch- Croyde’s Famous Freehouse

A North Devon institution; the busiest and liveliest pub in the area. There’s a vast drink selection to suit all tastes, from small batch brews (ales brewed by St.Austell brewery on a tiny scale and packed full of flavour) to a huge gin selection and signature cocktails curated by bar manager, Sean, who honed his skills in Northern Ireland and New York.
The menu features your regular pub classics including juicy Exmoor beef burgers and their famous nachos, to go along with regular locally caught fish specials.
Live music on Fridays from some great SW bands and a buzzing Open Mic on Sundays in summer.
The Kings Arms- Georgeham

A warming pub with an eclectic wooden interior, leather chairs and cosy feel. You’ll find a mixture of friendly locals and relaxed visitors alike, all enjoying awarding winning food and great beers.
There’s a beer garden out the front, from which you can look down the country lane and see and hear the birds in the bushes and trees nearby; a great spot for relaxing.
The menu incorporates the best of British and uses a lot of local ingredients. There are regular specials and a killer Sunday roast.
Top tip: book a table downstairs for the best atmosphere.
The Plaza Bar and Restaurant

Croyde Bay Resort’s Plaza is a versatile spot with a great outdoor area for the summer. Conveniently located within a minutes’ walk to the beach, the beer and food prices are some of the best in the area, making it a perfect spot for the family.
The menu includes your regular fare, such as burgers, steaks and pasta dishes. It’s open to all and after dinner residents and non-residents can make use of the free entertainment, including kid’s shows and acts, as well as live bands.
Top tip: Call ahead to find out what’s going on in the entertainment complex during the summer holidays and book dinner accordingly.
The Manor is a great country pub in Croyde which has the best sports coverage in the village, whether it’s the rugby or football, and has an outdoor play area to keep the kids entertained. 01271 890 241
The Rock Inn
The Rock Inn offer a slightly higher end dining menu, with some incredibly tasty dishes including rare breed pork from their own farm, as well as a collection of local and craft ales. 01271 890 322
